Central West Local Land Services are working with Geoff Duddy (Sheep Solutions) to deliver this hands-on, practical workshop to assist producers make key decisions for livestock production improvement and reproductive success.
With over 30 years’ experience in all facets of sheep, wool and lamb production Geoff’s primary goal is helping producers to fine-tune Breeding, Feeding and Finishing Management practices to achieve cost effective and profitable outcomes.
Topics to be covered on the day include:
-Preparing the ewe (and ram) for joining for those winter/Spring lambers
-Condition scoring/checking testis/teeth etc
-Scanning pro’s and con’s
-Managing the ewe flock post-scanning
-Preparing the flock/pastures etc for lambing
The morning will be held at "Woodside" Gilgandra, while the afternoon session (from 12 noon) will be held at the Gilgandra Services Club.

From Gilgandra head out on the Coonabarabran Road (Newell hwy) over bridge) about 1/2 km out take Gilgandra - Mendoran Rd (Castlereigh Hwy), right hand turn, travel approx 8 kms, take left hand turn onto Bearbung Road. Travel 9 and 3/4 kms down road, on right hand side, double set of gates and laneway with shearing shed 300-400 m from the road. Woodside shearing shed and yards. Keep an eye out for the LLS field day signs.
