LLS Tactical Grazing Management - IVANHOE

Event details

This one and half day workshop will cover the principles of tactical grazing management including pasture and livestock production, and planning for changing seasonal conditions.

The workshop will cover a range of information and skills obtained from completing the workshop include:
-Measuring groundcover
-Estimating the amount of forage and determining stocking rates
-Estimating digestibility of feed
-Judging how well animal requirements are being met
-Identifying key pasture species
-Monitoring utilisation level of key perennial plant species
-Estimating shrub cover and the impact on potential pasture growth
-Assessing livestock — condition scoring sheep
-Setting up a long-term monitoring system.

Join us at “Bellevue” Ivanhoe, on 18 and 19 May 2022. RSVP by 11 May 2022. Both days will have a start time of 8.30 am, with the first day finishing at 4.30 pm and second day at 2 pm.
