Would you like to or know someone who would like to become involved in an early investigation into the role of carbon in Australian Wool Production by Life Cycle Assessment? Australian Wool Innovation Ltd (AWI) recently commissioned a project to investigate the environmental credentials of the Australian wool industry using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The project team is seeking to engage wool extension groups to participate in this project. Life cycle assessment is described as a 'cradle-to-grave' analysis tool, investigating the environmental impacts and resource usage associated with the creation of a product throughout the whole production supply chain. This study will investigate the supply chain through to the 'farm-gate', for the production of greasy wool. Three regions are to be covered; NSW high rainfall, SA pastoral (or NSW pastoral) and WA wheat/sheep. Please contact Sheep Connect if you are interested in becoming involved in this project or would like more information on the project and its outcomes. Ph: (02) 63913954 or email
